From this letter it is clear that the Learney Estate was warm to the idea of expanding the golf course to 18 holes. In a way this illustrates the importance of tourism to the village- attracting visitors with an 18 hole golf course worked to the benefit of all!
Sadly the war intervened and the extension did not happen.
