Looking out from where Platform 22 now stands  you would see no evidence of today's village. The land where the village  is soon to be built is largely uncultivated  heathland  On the other hand you would see many prosperous looking farms in the area, particularly in Easter Beltie, Mid Beltie and Wester Beltie, but also at Annesly and Inchley adn craiggmyle . Closer at  hand is "Turfins Farm" which later  changed its name to be  the "Village  Farm".TxYould see  "Turfins Farm"  which later became the"Village Farm" there is also a school serving  the population of around 2,000 people living in the surrounding farms. the original Learney Arms Hotel is nearby,
